, 92, of Sun Lakes, AZ passed away on June 19, 2021 in Rimrock, AZ. She was born to Chester and Mary Elizabeth (Novak) Ridgeway on February 13, 1929. When she was eight years old, she and her family moved to Tucson, AZ. She attended grade school at Government Heights School in South Tucson and graduated high school from the Immaculate Heart Academy in Tucson. While attending the University of Arizona, with a major in Secretarial Studies, she met Frederick Dayton Kemmeries at a fraternity dance at Old Main on the U of A campus. Alice and Dayton were married on August 22, 1950 after Dayton’s graduation from the U of A College of Engineering and Mines and moved to Phoenix, AZ where Dayton worked for Motorola Government Electronics Division.

While raising five children with her husband, she was busy as a room mother at school, scout leader, member of the St Thomas the Apostle Church Sodality, member of the Phoenix Rose Garden Club, member of the Cosine Club for Valley engineers’ wives, member of the Maricopa County Election Board, and member of the Arizona State University Registration Day staff. After her husband passed away in 2000, she was an active member of the St Steven’s Catholic Church Bereavement Committee and a driver for Neighbors Who Care in Sun Lakes. She was an avid reader who enjoyed traveling, driving, crossword puzzles, jigsaw puzzles, solitaire and watching Jeopardy. Her favorite activity was spending time with her family.

Survivors include her five children: Diane Wright of Arizona City, AZ, Nancy Kemmeries of Tuckahoe, NY, James (Margarita) Kemmeries of Scottsdale, AZ, John (Julie Potter) Kemmeries of Rimrock, AZ and Robert Kemmeries of Phoenix, AZ. Also surviving are her five grandchildren: Jeffrey (Maria) Wright of Hattiesburg, MS, Steven (Katherine) Wright of Lincoln, RI, Kevin (Morgan) Wright of Mesa, AZ and Nadia Rosado and Dayton Kemmeries of Scottsdale, AZ.  She is also survived by her two great grandchildren: Daniel Wright and Christopher Wright. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and beloved sister Mary Ann Freeman.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to Catholic Charities Community Services in her memory. Donations can be sent to Catholic Charities Community Services, 4747 N. 7
