Alaine B White

October 3, 1930 — January 12, 2025

Alaine B. White, a beloved mother, stepmother, and grandmother, passed away peacefully on January 12, 2025, at the age of 94. Born on October 3, 1930, in Cleveland, Ohio, to parents Carl and Elvira Burkhardt.  Alaine's life was a filled with love, compassion, and service to her community.

Alaine's education began at Mentor High School, followed by her graduation from Jane Addams Vocational School, which paved the way for a fulfilling career at Raymond Seymour DDS and James J. Caine DDS offices as a dental hygienist. 

 Her commitment to her profession was matched only by her devotion to helping others, as she also volunteered at UH Geauga Medical—Holden Arboretum. Alaine's exceptional work earned her a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Geauga Park District in 2004, a testament to her impact and dedication throughout her lifetime. In addition to her talents, Alaine was an active member of the Chardon Garden Club, where she cultivated her love of plants and flowers.

She had a fervent passion for gardening, which held a special place in her heart and reflected her nurturing nature. Alaine also loved entertaining family and friends, sewing, and cooking for her family.

Alaine is preceded in death by her loving husband of 53 years Carl E. White, son Thomas J. Hobson (Janet), step-daughter Sharon Chase (Ross) and sister Donna Alucho (Sam).

Alaine is survived by her loving daughters, Jane Hobson Keller (Bayard) and Ellen Hobson Wodiuk (James), and her step-daughters, Shirley Johnson and Carleon White. Her legacy continues through her many many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Alaine will forever be felt in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

There are no services planned, Mass will be said in her honor at All Saints Catholic Church, 1534 N. Recker Road, Mesa, AZ 85205 on Sunday, February 16, 2025 at 11:00 AM.
