Mary Virginia (Conley) Pleticha

Mary Virginia (Conley) Pleticha, 91, known as “Gini” to many family and friends passed away on December 20, 2018.

Gini is survived by daughters, Carolynn (Tom) Eckard and Linda Greggs; son, Steve (Dawn) Pleticha; eleven grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and her furry best friend, Zoe. She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl, of 63 years, her parents, Martin & Marjorie Conley; brother, Jim Conley and son-in-law Randall Greggs.

Gini had the unique ability to light up a room by her very presence. She was an elegant lady whose style and grace shone brightly. She had a zest for life and treasured time spent with family and friends. Her devout Catholic faith allowed her to navigate life’s challenges with confidence.

Gini was born (10-7-1927) in Illinois and married her high school sweetheart Earl after he returned home from WWII. They later moved to Minnesota remaining there until retirement brought them to Arizona in 1984. Gini had many interests, but the strongest was a life long affinity and love for art. She was an accomplished artist & particularly enjoyed oil painting. She spent many hours in her art studio creating beautiful works of art. She shared her artistic talents as a volunteer in Occupational Therapy at local hospitals. She also loved Gardening and was active in Gardening Clubs. She and Earl also loved raising Golden Retrievers. Their love of dogs was passed on to their immediate & extended family!

Our entire family & friends will miss our mom’s shining light & sweet smile. But we will hold her “starlight” next to our hearts & cherish all the loving memories!

Donations, in lieu of flowers may be made in Mary’s (Gini’s) name to the Arizona Humane Society.
