Mary Vee (Rasband) Wright

Mary Vee (Rasband) Wright was born 20 May 1934 in Heber City, Utah to Elvira (Lindsay) and Walter Jeffs Rasband. She was the baby in her family of seven with 4 sisters and 2 brothers.
Mary Vee met Joe F. Wright in March before she graduated from high school at the store her brother-in-law managed and Joe worked. They were married 2 October 1952 in the Salt Lake
Temple. After her husband was drafted into the Korean war she followed him by ship to Europe where he was stationed. They enjoyed their time in Europe and went through many countries there. Her first son, Don, was born in an army hospital in Germany. Don was barely old enoughto take the boat home when Joe was transferred.
Mary Vee and Joe made their home in Provo while he went to school where she had 3 more children there; Gary, Sue and Jean. From there they moved to Hayward, California. They bought a home in Concord, California in 1961 where she had the rest of the children; Lynn, Diane, Mark, Brent and Colene. She loved her family so much. She enjoyed raising her children and helping with their schools. After losing 2 children in California they moved to Arizona in 1972. She sent 2 missionaries out from there then moved to American Fork, Utah in 1976. Finally, they settled in Arizona in 1986 until her death.
Mary Vee was a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She loved and held many positions in the church. She was a president of Relief Society and Primary. She taught Relief Society, Primary, Mutual, and Cub Scouts. She loved going to the temple.
She was a great example to all. She truly loved people and they knew it. She always had a ready, engaging smile and a positive thought.
She is survived by her husband, Joe F. Wright, sons; Don (Camille), Gary, Lynn (Cynthia), and Mark. Daughters include; Sue (Duane) Lucy, Diane and Colene (Craig) Jones and one sister, Phyllis (Rasband) Parcell, 14 grandchildren, 8 ½ great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 10 am on January 11, 2020 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at 2835 E. Des Moines Mesa, Arizona. Viewings will be held one hour prior (9 am) at the church or on January 10, 2020 from 6-8 pm at Bueler Mortuary at 14 W. Hulet Dr., Chandler, Arizona.
