Maria Isabel Moreno Hinojosa
With profound sadness we announce the abrupt passing of our beloved daughter, sister, mother, and aunt, Maria Isabel Moreno Hinojosa. She passed away peacefully Saturday morning May 23rd, 2020 due to complications from COVID.
Maria – or “Guera” as she was known to all her friends and family was born November 28th, 1974 in Chandler, Arizona to Luis Hinojosa and Ramona Mendez. After graduating from Chandler High School (Class of ’93), she furthered her education at various educational institutions while raising her three young children. She was a loving and dedicated mother who cared deeply for all her family.
Maria had a vivacious, larger than life personality, and always made everyone around her laugh. She had an extraordinary smile that would light up any room. She made friends everywhere she went. Her life was a living example of the bible verse Ephesians 4:32 “Be kind and compassionate to one another.” Her greatest passion was philanthropy by serving and caring for others. She loved everybody, and everybody loved her.
All whom loved her dearly will never forget her enthusiasm, humor, charm and charisma.
Maria is survived in legacy by her three children Fernando, Johnny and Julie, her parents Luis Hinojosa (father), Ramona Mendez (mother), and step father Ismael Mendez. She is also survived by her siblings Luis Jr. Hinojosa, Diana and her husband Mike Rader, Armando and his wife Linda Hinojosa and Ana and her husband Mauricio Portillo. Her 16 nieces and nephews Ricardo Jr., Joshua, Alexis, Adrian, Rhiana, Gabriela, Jazmyne, Alecia, Max, Madison, Mackenzie, Antonio, Reina, Charles, David and Pearl. Her great nieces and nephews Lylah Rae, Ava Virginia, Josiah and Leonell, As well as her life long partner Joe Hernandez.
Lastly, she is also survived by a host of loving uncles, aunts, cousins, in laws and long life friends from around the world.
