Leslie Chandler Mansfield

Leslie Chandler Mansfield of Chandler, Arizona passed away on Monday, May 22, 2017 at the age of 92. Leslie (“Les”) was born May 28

, 1924 in Newark, New Jersey to Harry and Grace (Chandler) Mansfield. Les served as an Army Corporal in the 63

rd

Infantry during WWII, serving in France and Germany.  While awaiting his discharge he met his future wife, Maude Ruth Bright in Richmond, Virginia and they were married on August 30, 1947. Courtesy of the GI Bill, Les attended college at the Richmond Professional Institute, now part of Virginia Commonwealth University and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Science in 3 years. Les began his career in Accounting prior to starting a 30-year career with Warner Lambert Pharmaceutical Company (now Pfizer) as an Information Technology Manager. His passions and hobbies included auto mechanics, travel/camping in his RV, square dancing, technology and volunteering as a fireman at Byram Township Fire Department in New Jersey. Les is predeceased in death by his wife of 62 years, Maude Ruth Bright Mansfield and his parents, Harry and Grace Chandler Mansfield.  He is survived by his children Linda Paragone and her husband, Michael, Ronald Mansfield and his wife, Sallyann, Gail Filippello and her fiancé, Rod Fernandez, Michael Mansfield, his grandchildren Brian Mansfield and wife Kristine, David Paragone, Michael, Filippello, Jr. Meghan Maher and her husband Matthew, Kristy Filippello, Sean Mansfield and his wife Tyler, Steven Mansfield, Michael Mansfield and his great grandchildren B. Patrick Mansfield, Jr., Grace Mansfield and Reagan Maher. Funeral services were held on Saturday, May 27, 2017 at Sun Lakes United Methodist Church in Sun Lakes, Arizona. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Sun Lakes United Methodist Church, 924 East Riggs Road, Sun Lakes, Arizona, 85248.
