Laurie (Pfeiffer) Medchill

, our loving wife, mother and grandmother, passed away 4/21/2019 at the age of 63 due to complications of Congestive Heart Failure.   She was born in Waukesha, WI and raised on a farm near McFarland and Madison, WI. She loved animals especially horses, dogs, cats and racoons. She was an expert horseman winning many awards with her Saddlebred and western horses.

She graduated from McFarland High School in McFarland, WI in 1974.  A year and a half later, she married Mike Medchill in Cottage Grove, WI. Laurie and Mike recently celebrated their 43

rd

anniversary.  She loved children and raised 5 wonderful kids whom she loved very, very much. She lived most of her adult life in the metropolitan Phoenix area.   She enjoyed crocheting, needlepoint, swimming and travel. She especially liked traveling to the Caribbean and Hawaii.  Maui was her favorite destination. It was her happy place.  Despite her advancing illness, she was able to enjoy several of her last weeks in Maui on Ka’anapali Beach watching whales from the lanai and eating at her favorite restaurants.

She is survived by her loving husband Dr. Michael Medchill, five children (Jennifer, Brian, Scott, Eric and Stephen (Kellye)), 2 grandchildren (Nathan and Kinsley), a sister (Barb Pfeiffer), 2 brothers (Joel (Sandy) and Jim Pfeiffer(Lois)) and several nephews and nieces (Jason, Matt, Megan and Corey).
