Martinez, Josephine Viola

79, of Tempe, AZ, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away December 6, 2017. Viola was born on July 31,1938 in Tucumcari New Mexico. Viola was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Johnny G. Martinez, and her parents, Santiago Blea and Esther Ramirez, her brother James Blea, sister Elsie Blea Serrano. Viola was the proud Grandmother and Great-Grandmother to 16 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Viola is survived by her daughters Roberta Valle, Kris Martinez Bustamante, and sons John E. Martinez, Eric S. Martinez (Sylvia Martinez), Mark E. Martinez (Magdalena Martínez), sisters Alice Blea Estrada, Betty Blea Perez, Tanna La Von Granada, and brother Ruben Blea. Viola was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, where she served in various callings, including serving a mission for the LDS Employment Center. Viola was devoted to her family, she loved her children, grand and great-grandchildren, she was especially devoted to her husband John who she loved and missed. Viola loved her LDS ward family, some she had known for more than forty years. Viola will truly be missed by all her family and fiends.

Funeral services are planned for 12:00 pm on Friday, Dec 15th, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1881 E. Del Rio Drive,Tempe, AZ. Interment will follow at Green Acres Cemetery, 401 N. Hayden Road, Scottsdale, AZ.
