, 90, of Chandler passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on January 8. A native of Macon, GA, Jim served in the U.S. Army Air Corps from 1945 to 1946 before completing a B.S. degree in Aeronautical Engineering at Iowa State University. Dedicated to a life of service to his country, Jim pursued a successful career at the Pentagon, holding the title of Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Air Force from 1960 until his retirement in 1986 and receiving recognition as a Distinguished Executive by President Reagan in 1982. He was preceded in death by his brother, Minton Williams. He is survived by his wife, Linda Williams; by his children, Paul Williams (and Wendy), Lisa Robertson (and Paul), Phil Williams (and Debbie), and Gail Feeney (and Robert); by his stepchildren Mandy Thompson, Jason Allen (and Marilou), and Joel Allen (and Andy); by seventeen grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; and by his sister-in-law, Sue Williams. Faith was important to Jim, and all of his loved ones were the subjects of his prayers on a daily basis.

Services will be held at St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church in Chandler on Tuesday, January 16, at 10am. In lieu of flowers, donations are encouraged to the St. Matthew’s Capital Campaign Building Fund or to any faith community of choice.
