, passed away on June 15, 2022 just after celebrating her 91

st

birthday surrounded by friends.

Frances was born on June 9, 1931, in New Haven, CT to William and Hazel Neville.  Frances received her degree in English from the University of Connecticut and stayed faithful as a fan following all of their athletics. Frances met the love of her life John W. (Jack) McGrath after college while teaching.  They lived in Burlington, Connecticut until they retired in 1993 and relocated to Chandler, Arizona.  Frances was devoted to her late husband Jack.

Frances taught High School English and her passion for teaching and learning lasted her entire life.  She loved the interaction with the kids and coaching women’s basketball. She also loved to read books, was an avid swimmer, and enjoyed trips to the museum or the zoo. Fran was actively involved in the Women’s Garden Club and the United Methodist Church Women’s Group where she participated in Bible study and the Hospitality Group.

Frances was preceded in death by her husband Jack who passed away in September of 2018 and her four siblings; Barbara, William, Richard, and John. Fran is survived by many nieces and nephews – Katherine Ann Wagner, Joe (Lori) McGrath, Mike (Sylvia) McGrath, Glenn (Susan) Kornreich, Wayne (Suzan) Kornreich, Dale (Carole) Kornreich, Garth (Debbie) Kornreich, Scott (Jeanette) Kornreich, Sue (Michael) Rousseau, Robert (Sherri) Neville , Craig Neville, Keith Neville, Gary (Elaine) Neville, ). Frances’s warm smile and wonderful personality will be missed by all who knew her. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 12, 2022 at the United Methodist Church on Riggs Rd in Sun Lakes, AZ at 9:00 a.m. Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
