Eufemia Aguilar Parra

Eufemia Aguilar Parra,

age 93, was called to rest with God on June 20, 2021.  She was born February 19, 1928, in Valle de Olivos, Chihuahua, Mexico. She was the third child out of 13 born to Pablo Aguilar and Eufemia Dominguez. She was raised on a humble ranch in La Colonia, Chihuahua, Mexico and at the age of 17 moved to Juarez, Mexico. This is where she met Victoriano Saballa Parra, her husband of 70 years, who recently passed on January 10, 2021. Soon after their wedding they immigrated to the US and settled in Arizona, becoming Citizens while starting a new life together and raising four children. She is survived by her children, Martha Anguis (Bill), Victor Parra, Jr., (Dora) Natalia Lambson (Bert) and Heriberto Parra(Theresa). The next generations expanded to nine grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Eufemia was a loving wife and mother. Being a decisive and firm mother, not only did she provide her children plenty of love but discipline as well, the best role model a child could have. She also was a beacon to her brothers and sisters over the years. She was somewhat quiet and reserved but never hesitated in expressing to others in need that she cared for them or was willing to help in any way she could. Her sincere and caringnature were attributes that forever will be embedded in the memories of family and friends.

Her husband was a humble breadwinner but she managed the household and could somehow make a dollar stretch so her children never wanted for anything, and she still had extra money to help other family members or friends.  She and her husband always had time to help the downtrodden. She was never negative or spiteful and was always respectful of everyone.

She will always be remembered as the “rock” by her children and many others because of her guidance, strength and giving nature. However, during the last year of her life, she deteriorated significantly both physically and mentally. She was not the lucent, independent strong woman we always knew.  However, being strong willed, she chose Father’s Day to allow her body to shut down and join her loving husband, just to show us she was still in charge and express her love for him. This was such a meaningful day when they reunited, both happy to be together again. They will always be loved and missed.
