Brian Lee Harman

Brian Lee Harman

was born November 12, 1947 in Phoenix, Arizona. Entering life weighing only 3 pounds, he was placed on an oven door to keep him alive. He overcame many health problems to grow into a fine young man. He served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in the Eastern Atlantic United States/Washington DC mission during a time of civil unrest, even narrowly escaping bullets fired at him and his companions.

While serving his mission, he was tasked with caring for the remains of a fellow missionary who died while in the Lord’s service. He was so moved by the experience that he decided to make it his life’s work and came home from his mission to undertake undertaking. His kind heart and gentle soul made this a perfect choice and he served the people under his care with compassion and respect.

After a whirlwind romance, Brian married Donna Bencic in 1971 and together, they built a life of service to others. Armed with their trailer and dolly, Donna and Brian were there for anyone and everyone who needed their help. Their willingness to serve made them beloved neighbors and friends.

Brian was particularly known for his irreverent sense of humor and the joy he found mercilessly teasing others.

Brian passed quietly on September 18,

2020 in his home surrounded by his wife and family. He is preceded in death by his mother and father, Kenneth and Ada MacDonald Harman, sister Nonavie (Lee Dyer) and brother Denny (Anne) and is survived by his wife of nearly 50 years, Donna, sister Carolyn Calhoun, brothers Robert ‘Mick’ (Suzanne) and Gene (Lorraine).
