Susie Shubin Lang Rice
, of Gilbert, AZ, passed away peacefully and surrounded by family on March 20, 2017 in Gilbert. She was born Dec. 30, 1929 in Glendale, AZ to Eli Ephraim Shubin and Julie Haprov. The family moved to California in 1942. She worked at the Security Pacific Bank, where she met Franklin Ralph Lang. They were married on Apr. 5, 1952. She lost her husband, Frank, and youngest son, Willard, in a plane accident in 1976. She later married Gareth Rice and moved to Azalea, OR, where she raised cows and sheep. She came to love sheep, and shared that love with her family through figurines and ornaments. She is survived by children, Kathleen Smith (Daniel), Steven Lang (Cindy), and Franklin Lang (Joni); 12 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren. Susie was a hard-working, wonderful wife and mother, who loved her family. She cherished all of her children and everyone knew it. She also helped many while serving in various callings in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Services will be held Sat., Mar. 25, at the Chandler East Stake Center, 21320 S.
