Steven Burke Peterson

, 63, of Queen Creek, Arizona died unexpectedly on February 27, 2020. He was raised in Provo, Utah and served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Nevada Las Vegas Mission. He attended Brigham Young University and moved to Arizona where he worked for his brother-in-law, Mario E. Ray, in residential construction. He married Pamela Shepherd in 1983 and continued employment with home builders throughout the course of his career. For the past six years he has happily served in the Gilbert Arizona Temple. He was a passionate skier, fly fisherman, dog lover, and woodworker. He is survived by his wife Pam, daughter Shelly Kaufman (Russell), son Scott Peterson (Leah), grandson Ethan Kaufman, granddaughter Aubrey Kaufman, and his siblings, Carol Decker, Mary Clyde, Mark Peterson, Eric Peterson, and Helen Francis. No public services are planned. Steven will be remembered for a sweetness that he often hid and for the perfect timing of his outrageous sense of humor.
