, age 77, of Chandler, Arizona, died on Wednesday, June 29, 2016.
Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 9, 2016, at King of Glory Lutheran Church, 2085 E Southern Avenue, Tempe, with a private burial to follow.
Bueler Mortuary in Chandler is in charge of the arrangements.
Sharon Rochelle Wilkinson was born on September 21, 1938 in Decorah, Iowa to Elvin O. “Pete” Finberg and Kathleen J. “Kay” McConnell. She graduated from Luther College and the University of Michigan in Library Science.
She married Joseph W. Wilkinson in 1964 and they made their permanent home in Tempe, Arizona. Sharon was long active in the ASU Faculty Wives club and also volunteered at the Tempe Historical Museum. She spent many years working in the King of Glory Church Library and Adult Education programs.
Survivors include her husband Joe; brother Robert (Norita) Finberg of Greensboro, North Carolina; sons Mark (Yi) Wilkinson of San Francisco, California, Tod (Jill) Wilkinson of Tempe, Arizona, Eric (Gayle) Wilkinson of Los Angeles, California; and six grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made in Sharon’s honor to the Tempe Historical Preservation Foundation (

) or the Arizona Humane Society (
azhumane.org
).
