Ruth Kubinski

Ruth was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the youngest of 3 children on May 8, 1944. She attended Catholic grade school and Divine Savior High School. Ruth went on to receive a BS degree from Mount Mary College in elementary education. Ruth taught 4th grade at Donges Bay Elementary school in Mequon, Wisconsin for 18 years. She was a well loved and well respected teacher who brought joy to many children. Ruth met her husband Frank in September 1967. They were married on June 21, 1969 at St. Ann’s Catholic Church and spent 48 wonderful years together. Frank and Ruth supported each other through the good and the hard times. Tired of shoveling snow, Frank and Ruth moved to Scottsdale, Arizona in December of 1984. Within one month of moving to Arizona, Ruth was pregnant and her wonderful daughter Susan was born September 26, 1985. They were so very excited to welcome their daughter into the world as they waited 16 years for her. Ruth’s life was made full by Susan’s birth and she played an integral part of her life. Ruth worked at the Phoenix Public Library as a circulation attendant for 17 years and enjoyed working there till her retirement. Ruth enjoyed watching football, especially the Green Bay Packers and Arizona Cardinals, along with the local college teams. She also enjoyed reading, baking, craft projects, making puzzles and playing board games. Susan and Ruth spent lots of time together shopping, at school activities, and enjoyed each others’ company on a daily basis. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Ruth Kubinski (nee Gruning) is survived by husband Frank Kubinski, daughter Susan Kubinski and Susan’s boyfriend Bryan Sexton, sister Louise (Arthur) Kohler, brother Frank (Sandy) Gruning, sister in laws Theresa (Richard) Marek, Annette (Charles) Engle, brother in law Ralph (Fran) Kubinski, numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews along with many friends, including Pam Benoit, the best caregiver we could have ever asked for.

Funeral services will be on October 16, 2017 at St. Steven’s Catholic Church, 24827 S Dobson Rd, Sun Lakes, AZ 85248. Rosary service will be held at 9:15 AM, Mass at 10:00AM, and reception of Ruth’s life following the services. Interment will take place at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, 1562 E. Baseline Road, Mesa, AZ 85204, following the services. In lieu of flowers, we are asking for donations to be sent to The Society of St. Vincent de Paul, P.O. Box 3600, Phoenix, AZ 85002, in the name of Ruth Kubinski.
