Robert Christopher Escobedo
August 30, 1954 – March 9, 2018
Robert Christopher Escobedo, a beloved member of the Chandler community, passed away on March 9, 2018 after a hard fought battle with cancer.
Robert, known as Bob, was born in Mesa, AZ. After playing as a high speed pitcher throughout his high school years, he graduated from Chandler High School in 1972. Shortly after he graduated, he moved to Glenwood Springs, CO to begin a long career in the golf business. Eventually moving back to Arizona, he continued working in the golf industry for San Marcos Golf Course, Ahwatukee Country Club, and The Links at Queen Creek.
He is survived by his three children, Shanna Lynn Laborde (Craig Laborde), Christopher John Escobedo, and Jamie Diane Huerta (Abel Huerta, III); his grandchildren, Chad, Colin, Alex, Naomi, Juliana, Cade, and Colt; his siblings, Irene Strecker (John Strecker), Olga George, Tomas Escobedo (Kathleen Escobedo), Rebecca Gonzales and Diane Escobedo; and a myriad of extended family and friends. He is preceeded in death by his father, Tomas Franco Escobedo, his mother, Helen Garcia Escobedo and his brother, David Joseph Escobedo.
Bob was known for his carefree and loving attitude and always treated everyone with respect. He never took one day for granted and lived his life to the fullest. He loved chipping balls on the course and talking about his days of being a pitcher for the Chandler Wolves. He still holds records from 1972 at Chandler High for Completed Games, Strikeouts and Wins.
