Richard W. Arbogast

Richard Arbogast

, a sports enthusiast who turned his passion for behavioral health into a profession that’s helped countless individuals, died at age 44 on Monday, September 19, 2016 from natural causes.

Richard was born in 1972 in Phoenix, Arizona. He did undergrad studies at Northern Arizona University. He received his Masters degree in Kinesiology from University of North Texas. After spending his career working in behavioral health, he co-founded and became CEO of San Tan Behavioral Health Services, a family-run business dedicated to improving behavioral health for all its clients.

In his personal life, Richard played college football and was a lifelong football fan (go Longhorns, go Cardinals!)—the Detroit Lions were his childhood favorite. He was also a lifelong animal lover, opening his home to rescue dogs that became close family pets. But what he was most passionate about was vacationing with his wife and son.

Richard leaves behind his beloved wife, Dina Arbogast (née Skentzos), and his adored son, Vaughn, 7. He is also survived by his mother Barb Caley, sister Lori Matori, nephew Timothy Matori, parents-in-law William and Anna Skentzos, brothers-in-law Spiro Skentzos and Mike Lucas, his maternal grandmother, Nancy Moyer as well as various cousins, aunts and uncles. He is preceded in death by his father Ted Arbogast.

A memorial celebrating his life will be held at Bueler Mortuary, 14 W. Hulet Drive, Chandler, Arizona, 85225 (480-963-6351) on Friday, September 23, 2016. Open house at 11AM, service at Noon. Please bring your stories about Richard so we can celebrate him. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Friends For Life or the American Heart Association
