Peter D’Aquino

was born in Brooklyn, New York on March 14, 1928 to Leonardo and Anna Maria D’Aquino of Foggia (Sant’Agata), Italy. He was a middle child, siblings were Donato, Roseanne and Leonard. Peter was the proud father of Andrea Teresa D’Aquino, an artist and illustrator, and Peter Leonard D’Aquino, a doctor of Chinese Medicine and acupuncturist. Peter is married to international journalist, Akiko D’Aquino, all living in New York City. He and his wife, Anita D’Aquino came to Phoenix, Arizona in 1992, and made a close circle of friends over that time. He was a successful builder and construction superintendent on many historic landmark buildings in and around New York City, Long Island and Westchester. Some projects including a 5th Avenue annex to the New York Public Library, a renovation of historic Grace Church, The Westchester Premier Theater, The Children’s Hospital in Valhalla, New York, and the Bank at Southhampton, LI. A proud moment was to work in collaboration with the renowned architect, I.M. Pei. Peter had a life long love of raising fancy pigeons, belonging to clubs in New York, California and Arizona, winning awards and making more lasting friendships. He was fortunate to have enjoyed several beautiful trips to Italy, a Meditteranean cruise and several memorable trips extensively throughout Arizona and California. His calm, peaceful and loving character will be missed by his entire family, but he remains eternally present in our hearts. May he rest in peace.  Visitation for Peter D’Aquino will be Monday, November 13, 2017 from 4-7pm at Bueler Mortuary Chapel with a Funeral  Mass Tuesday, November 14, 2017  at 10am at Corpus Christi Catholic Church 3550 E. Knox Rd. Phoenix, Arizona 85044.
