passed away unexpectedly on January 18, 2021, after a brief illness unrelated to Covid-19.
Tricia was the youngest of 3 daughters to Walter and Elaine Brown born on January 20, 1947, in Jefferson City, Missouri. Tricia married her best friend Doug MacDonald on December 21, 1966, in Paradise Valley, Arizona. They had two children together, Christa MacDonald and Ryan MacDonald. Doug and Tricia recently celebrated their 54
th
wedding anniversary.
Tricia shared her life with her husband Doug in Cave Creek, AZ and they spent their summers enjoying the beauty of Creede, Colorado.
Tricia’s memory lives on in her family, husband Doug MacDonald, daughter Christa MacDonald, son Ryan MacDonald, daughter-in-law Cami MacDonald, her 5 grandchildren, and sisters Barbara Odegaard and Marian Mosher.
Tricia worked with her husband in the golf industry for many years and was an avid quilter. She blessed many friends and families with gifts of her beautiful handiwork and was often finding ways to give back to those in need. Over the years she donated many quilts to senior centers and veterans’ homes. In addition to quilting, Tricia was a talented fiddle player and enjoyed playing Bluegrass music accompanied by Doug on the guitar. Tricia was also a member of the P.E.O. Sisterhood for over 50 years, in chapter EU/AZ.
Tricia enjoyed hiking and exploring nature with Doug and their dog, Luna. Tricia’s most cherished pastime was bonding with her 5 grandchildren, Emily (daughter of Christa) and Bryce, Solange, Joseph, and Grace (children of Ryan and his wife Cami).
Her role as a Grandmother was her greatest joy in life. Teaching her “Grands” everything from sewing to the importance of being kind even when no one is watching will be her legacy. To know Tricia was to be the recipient of her incredible kindness.
Due to current health restrictions, no memorial service is being planned at this time.
In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations in Tricia’s memory to the Creede School in care of the Creede Endowment Foundation for vocational scholarships for high school seniors. Donations may be mailed to 450 Corsair Dr. Creede, CO, 81130.
Donations may also be made to the Silver Thread Public Health District, Mineral County Public Health. Donations may be mailed to P.O. Box 277 Lake City 81235, in the care of Tara Hardy.
