Norris Dean Walter

, attorney and longtime resident of Chandler, AZ, entered eternity on May 12, 2016.  Norris was born in Salina, Kansas on August 8, 1930, the first of three children of Wallace Edmund and Eva Mae Walter.  He was raised in Salina and graduated from Salina High School in 1948. He attended and graduated from Kansas Wesleyan University in 1952 and later, Washburn University in 1959 where he received his Law Degree.  He served in the US Army from 1954-56, playing for the Army band while serving in Germany. In 1954, he married Helen LaCroix, and from their union, four children were born.   Norris was a man of strong faith, dedicated to his family and hardworking advocate for others. He loved being with family, enjoyed jazz concerts, pie, and had a quirky sense of humor.  Norris is survived by children, Norissa (Rick) Honea, Dan (Susan) Walter, Melissa (Tom) Rees, and Randall (Anabelle) Walter; granddaughters, Katie Louk, Sheryl Honea, Nicole Schutt, Lindsay Gilliland, Joanna Law, Jennifer Jones, Megan Weathers,  Kenzie Pemberton, Taylor Walter, and grandsons, Dario and Nilo Walter; great-grandchildren, Jacob, Mikaela, Caden, Austin, Parker, William, Jason, Georgia, Drake, Jack, Taelyn, Wyatt, Levi, and Noya;  sister, Donna (Carl) Schneider, brother, Leon (Marlene) Walter; one nephew and six nieces.

Visitation will be held Thursday, May 19, 2016 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Bueler’s Mortuary, 14 W. Hulet Dr., Chandler, AZ 85225.   Celebration of Life followed by burial will be at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, May 20, 2016 10:00 at Valley of the Sun Chapel and Cemetery, 10940 East Chandler Heights Rd., Chandler, AZ 85248.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests giving to any of these charities: The Hope Center, Omaha, NE; Street Light Ministries, Phoenix, AZ; Cornerstone Christian Fellowship Church, Chandler, AZ;  Salvation Army, Barrow Foundation, Phoenix, AZ; Chandler Education Foundation, Chandler, AZ; Wounded Warriors Project, or your favorite charity.
