Mrs. Anna “Floretta” Dotson (Cooley)

Mrs. Anna “Floretta” Dotson (Cooley) died peacefully on April 27th 2021 in Chandler, Arizona at the age of 82.

Floretta is survived by her sons Mitch, Perry, Bryan and Loren of Arizona, as well as her loving grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband James Thurman Dotson, of Oklahoma.

Floretta was born on July 17th 1938 in Bald Knob, Arkansas to Fred and Ida Cooley. She married James Dotson, the love of her life, in 1955 and graduated from Chandler High School in 1956. Floretta started her career in 1972 as a Postmaster in Bapchule, Arizona at the Trading Post that she and James owned together. She had many years of service with the U.S. Post Office and retired in 2008.

Floretta’s was an active and dedicated member of the Alma School Road Church of Christ. Her passion in life was spoiling her grandchildren, cooking for her family and she was a devoted shopper.

A viewing is scheduled from 6:00-8:00pm, May 14th at Bueler Chandler Mortuary (14 West Hulet Drive, Chandler, Arizona 85225).

A funeral is scheduled for 9:00am, May 15th at Alma School Road Church of Christ (415 North Alma School Rd, Chandler, Arizona 85224).

A gravesite visit is scheduled for 10:00am at The Valley of the Sun Mortuary (10940 East Chandler Heights Rd, Chandler, Arizona 85248) with a reception to follow. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Floretta’s life.
