Mary Jane (Collins) Norman
Mary Jane Norman, 71, passed the morning of April 15, 2017 at her home in Chandler, Arizona. She was born in Lone Tree, Iowa on July 4, 1945, and lived in Iowa until moving to Arizona in 1969.
Mary graduated in 1987 with a bachelor’s degree in education from Arizona State University. She continued her education soon after, graduating from Northern Arizona University with her Master’s in education. Mary was a first grade teacher in the Chandler Unified School District for 17 years, retiring in 2004, with most of her career spent at Jacobson Elementary School.
She enjoyed traveling, collecting antiques, and was an avid fan of the Phoenix Suns; however, Mary enjoyed nothing more than spending time with her grandchildren.
Mary is survived by her husband, Barry, of 43 years; siblings AJ Collins, Mort Collins, Sandi McGuire and Pam Stephens; her children Steve Han (Becky), Missy Klein (Dan), Terry Matheson (Derry), and Bobbie Madejczyk; her grandchildren Saundra (David), Shaina, Kelan, Ryan, Elisa, Nate, Cara (Morgan), Brianna, Colm, Maddy, and Kaley; and great-grandchild Aspen.
The service for Mary will be held on Saturday, April 22 at 2 p.m. at Bueler Chandler Mortuary: 14 W. Hulet Dr., Chandler, AZ 85225, followed by an open house at the Norman residence.
