Mardee Ann Brown (Risser), 80, passed away July 21, 2019 at Copper Creek Inn Memory Care in Chandler, AZ, where she had been a resident for the last 6 ½ years.
She was born July 9, 1939 in Peoria, IL to E.C. “Pete” and Helen (Pitts) Risser. She was raised with her sister in Peoria and graduated from Peoria “Central” High School in 1957. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Bradley University in Peoria, and worked as a substitute teacher for many years while raising her family. She and her husband moved to Mesa, AZ in 1997 to be closer to their children and grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Travis W. Brown, a son, David Brown, and a daughter, Cynthia Brown. She is survived by her sister, Ronalee De Noble of Peoria, IL, a son, Robert Scott Brown (Rebecca) of Winchester, CA, and a daughter, Carole Brown of Chandler, AZ. Also surviving are seven grandchildren, Jason Brown, Kyle Brown, Dixie Brown, Molly Brown, Jazmin (Anguiano) Bessette, Jordan Anguiano, and Chris Anguiano, and six great-grandchildren.
A dedicated mother and grandmother, she served as a Cub Scout Den Mother, Brownie Troop Leader, PTA member, swim team scorekeeper and meet organizer, and was an overall supporter of her children’s various activities.
