The Rhythm of the Rhyme
Author unknown, adapted for Lettie
Lettie has a list of the folks she knows, all written in a book
She would often go and take a loving look.
Today we appreciate that these names are apart
Not of the book they’re written in but of her very heart.
For each name stands for someone who has crossed her path sometime
And in that meeting, they’ve become the Rhythm of her Rhyme.
She is composed of each remembered name
And her life displayed this claim to fame.
For she, and we, are but a total of the many folks we’ve met
And you happen to be one of those we prefer not to forget.
And whether we have known you, for many days or few
In some way, you had a part in shaping us anew.
And so, we celebrate her life today with Lettie’s point of view
One of the finest gifts that life can give is the precious presence of you.
