Joyce “Jo” Ann Simons

Joyce “Jo” Ann Simons, 1950 – 2018

Joyce Ann (Beydler) Simons, passed away peacefully Saturday, September 15, 2018 in Chandler AZ after succumbing to her disease.

Joyce was born in Arlington Virginia to her parents Mr. Martin Luther Beydler & Mrs. Florence (Haley) Beydler. As a young adult she traveled the world ending up in Arizona, where she later met Earl Simons. They were married for a wonderful eight years before his life was cut short due to cancer. Joyce retired from Motorola after a successful career in administration. She was a devoted friend and an angel to all her cats, but with Joyce’s big heart she also found time to serve as a kind and generous hospice assistant until an accident prevented her from continuing.

Joyce is survived by two nieces, Kelly Sullivan-Anderson and Michelle Sullivan, both of Oregon; Lifelong beloved friends Mr. & Mrs. Bob Howard of Arizona; A kindhearted friend and cousin by marriage, Christine Simons-Newcomer of California; And let us not forget to mention her precious cats, Zechariah “Zach”, Leviticus “Levi”, and Homer.

Predeceased by her father Mr. Martin Luther Beydler, mother Mrs. Florence (Haley) Beydler, sister Mae Beydler-Sullivan, February 2009; husband Earl H Simons III, August 2003.

Joyce’s life was full of adventures and experiences. She made friends wherever she went, so many benefited from her gentle spirit and sweet smile. Her legacy, a wealth of friends and family that will love her forever, she will be missed.

A private celebration of life, with invited friends and family, will be held on Saturday, September 29, 2018
