, 71, born on October 31, 1944, of Yuma, AZ, entered eternal life on July 4, 2016. Memorial services in his honor will be held at 9:00 am on Saturday, July 9

2016 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints at 2252 W. Mesquite St., Chandler, Arizona 85224. A public viewing will be held the evening prior on Friday, July 8, 2016, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. Born to Doris John, and Curtis W. Power, in Yuma, AZ, he attended Yuma County Schools and graduated from Yuma High School in 1962. As a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, he served a 2-year mission in the Andes Mission in Lima, Peru from 1964 to 1966. This began his life-long love of the Spanish language and the people whom he served. On May 26, 1967, John married Sandra Joan Swenson in the Mesa, Arizona Temple. John graduated from Brigham Young University in marketing and finance in 1972. In his professional life, the majority of his career centered around business consulting. Active in the community, he selflessly gave of his time and talents. He loved scouting and proudly held the Silver Beaver Award. John loved photography. He saw the hand of God exhibited in the beauty of the nature all around him and tried to capture this in his photos.  He loved sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ with others in myriads of ways.  John loved trains, cars, motorcycles, and secretly dreamed of being a race-car driver. He was a friend to all he knew. John was happiest when he was surrounded by his family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Doris and Curtis, and his sister, Kathi Lynn Baker. He is survived by his wife, Sandy, his sisters, Elizabeth A. Nelson, and Janice Power, his brothers, Michael Power, Kenneth Power and David Power, his six children, Camille Miller (Derek), Kent E. Power (Tatia), Travis S. Power (Christi), Corinne Dixon (Chad), Afton Potter (Heath), and Kendall Power (Bekah), as well as 18 grandchildren.
