James Robert Williams Jr.

James Robert Williams Jr.

was called home on February 26th, 2019, at 8:58 pm. He was born on August 11, 1961 to James R. “Bob” and Lydia, and was the oldest of 4 boys. Born in Biloxi, MS, James traveled the world in his youth as a result of his father’s military service. He and his family moved to Phoenix, AZ when James was 10 years old, and he remained an Arizona resident until his passing at age 57.

All who knew James knew his enormous heart and love of service. He was generous and kind, and his life was filled with selfless acts toward family members, friends, and strangers alike. He had a deeply rooted love for music, and was constantly singing along, whether the song had words or not. He was thirsty for knowledge, always seeking to learn more about the world and its cultures and people. Two of the pivotal experiences of his life were his baptism at age 19 into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and his two-year mission sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the people of the California Arcadia Mission. It was during these years that he developed a deep and abiding love for the Savior, Jesus Christ, whom he served throughout his life.

James is survived by his devoted wife Holly of 30 years; children Janette A. M. Daidone, Daniel A., Dominick (Lisa) Daidone, Benjamin C. (Jenae), Cassidy G. (Alaric), Joshua G. M., Garrick A., and Miranda C. (John) Pomrenke; eleven grandchildren; parents Bob and Lydia; and brothers Steven Kenneth “Ken” (Debbie) and Michael “David.” James’ passing follows two years after that of his brother Donald Andrew “Andy.”

His viewing is scheduled for Saturday, March 9th, 2019 at 10:00 am, with the funeral immediately following at 11:00 am, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on 800 W Chandler Heights Rd, Chandler, AZ 85248.
