James Paul Thompson

On Wednesday, March 14, we said goodbye to James Paul Thompson. A beloved son, a treasured brother, a wonderful husband, and an amazing father. In addition to an already full life he was also Pastor to several congregations and touched thousands of lives. He managed to find joy in every aspect of life. He was always finding ways to teach us more about Jesus than what was simply on the pages. God spoke to him in a way that spoke to others without effort. Paul was always able to make new friends; and make their lives better by knowing him. After dozens of mission trips, hundreds of lessons, and quite possibly a million pictures; Paul has returned home to be with Christ.

Paul was my good, good friend for 20+ years. Confidant, friend and humorist all rolled into one. I already miss him.

I had the complete privilege and honor of being Paul’s homecare nurse for a short time. It took less than 1 minute of meeting Paul to realize what a kind and gentle spirit he had. In spite of his multiple, tumultuous circumstances, I witnessed him demonstrate the fruit of God’s Spirit: Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self control. Paul gave me the gift of witnessing what it is like to truly be Chritst-like. I will hold that gift in my heart and in my mind always. What a blessing! Mary~ My heart is with you and your family and you will all remain in my continuing prayers. God Bless you all! ♡♡♡♡♡
