Harry W. Herron

Loving Husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, father-in-law, beloved uncle to many and a World War II Veteran.

Born October 9, 1920 in Noblesville, Indiana, to Wallace & Margaret Herron.  After marrying, he joined the Army, serving time in Burma, India, as a medic and first-Sargent.  His life work was with Firestone Tire & Rubber Company, first as a tractor tire salesman, moving up the chain to Store Manager, and then to territory sales.  He retired in 1984.

After retirement, he started a second career at Enterprise Rent-a-Car for an additional 17 years.  He fully retired from the workforce at the age of 80.

He is survived by his wife of 77 years, Norma Verneal Herron of Phoenix, his daughter, Lynnette Lewis of Phoenix, his daughter, Darla Gerner and her husband, Ed of Boerne, Texas, his sister Alberta Parker of Arcadia, Indiana, many nieces, nephews, great nieces & nephews, 5 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

A small family celebration of life with burial in the VA National Cemetery Of Arizona will be Thursday, August 22, 2019 at 11:00 a.m.

Your prayers of comfort and peace for the family are requested.  In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Hospice of the Valley are welcome.
