George Matthew Charts

passed peacefully at his home in Phoenix, Arizona on May 29th, 2021 at the age of 66.

George was born in Chicago, Illinois and spent his youth in Illinois and Wisconsin. He graduated from Grayslake High School and Northern Illinois University, and also studied at the College of Lake County.

His favorite things in life were live music, adventure, sports, and time with loved ones.

Whether hitchhiking across the country, camping, skiing, fishing or dirt bike riding, George was always up for an adventure. He was fond of sharing adventures with others and was full of wonderful stories.

George loved playing tennis and softball, winning many championships. He was a lifelong Green Bay Packers fan. Later on in life, he found enjoyment in racquetball and golf.

He adored spending time with family and friends. His biggest joy in life was being a father.

George found deep gratitude for life through a strong faith in God and Jesus.

George is preceded in death by his mother Helen. He will be lovingly remembered by his son Matt, daughter Kendra, his two grandchildren Sage and Fletcher, his life partner Abby and her family, his sister Mary, and his brothers Richard, Mark, Tom, and Jack.

A celebration of life will be held in his honor in Illinois and Arizona at a later date. A burial will also be held at Ascension Cemetery in Libertyville, IL.
