George Bock Ransdell & Arlene Teeples Ransdell

George Bock Ransdell

Rufus and Mildred Ransdell of Seattle Washington gave birth to George Bock Ransdell on January 9th 1943.  He spent  his childhood in Seattle along with sister Linda Ransdell Gurnari, graduating from West Seattle High School in 1961.  Following graduation, George joined the military serving in Germany and Fort Knox.  In 1963, George married classmate Joan Frances Pickart, together parenting three daughters: Monica Lynn Ransdell, Jennifer Lynn Ransdell and Joanna Lynn Ransdell Biron.  In1967, George and family moved to Portland Oregon for a job transfer.  In 1988, George met and married Arlene Teebles.  He and Arlene  shared their time living in Portland near George’s daughters and  grandchildren Violet, Vincent, Everett, Castle, Evan and Lillian.Lillian,  and living in Tempe Arizona near Arlene’s children and grandchildren.  George moved permanently to Tempe Arizona in 2017.

George spent his life dedicated to his love of family, and his activities within the Mormon church, which he joined in 1963.  He was a collector of vinyl records, VHS movies, and all things collectable which developed into his favorite hobby, selling on Ebay.

George and Arlene with their beloved dog Turbo lead active, joyous lives together until a tragic auto accident on February 21, 2019 took their lives.  They will be greatly missed.

Arlene Teeples Ransdell

Arlene was born to Clifton Orin and Jessie Mary Murray Teeples in Salt Lake City on November 18, 1940.  She was blessed with one brother Darell, who was 7 years her younger, that she greatly adored. Arlene graduated from Franklin H.S. in Portland Oregon in 1958. She attended BYU after high school but her college graduation took place many years later in 1981, when her oldest son started college. She was a great example of it “never being too late” to obtain goals. Arlene married her high school sweetheart Lawrence Allen Jensen in August of 1961 in the Idaho Fall Temple. They had four children; Mark Allen, David Clifton, Leigh Ann, and Bradley Lawrence who are their pride and joy. Arlene loved being a mother. She gave motherly advice to all teenagers who entered her home. It was not unusual to come home and find various teenagers at her table just talking to her. Arlene travelled the world, following the career of her husband in Air Force, where she discovered the love of international cuisine. During her life, she worked as an educator in the cooking, banking, and secondary education worlds. She was a published author, a dental assistant volunteer, and served others in various callings in her church throughout her life. After 23 years of marriage Larry and Arlene divorced in 1984. Arlene met George on a blind date after Christmas in 1988, and was smitten, marrying George Bock Ransdell in the Mesa Temple on June 1

, 1989. Arlene and George loved spending time together. They could be found looking for treasures at garage sales, playing games, cooking and on New Year’s Eve would move the furniture aside to dance together. Both she and George were killed in a car accident on a cold, rainy day on February 21

, 2019 in Tempe, Arizona.  While we are shocked at their untimely passing, we are thankful that they were together at the end.  Arlene and George are survived by her brother Darell, his sister Linda, their 7 children, 18 grandchildren and one great grandson.
