Gail Ann Stegina
of Sun Lakes, Arizona, a loving wife, mother and grandmother, passed away May 6, 2018 surrounded by her family after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She leaves behind her husband, Michael Stegina and three children; Sandra McNatt and her husband Kyle McNatt, Carrie Smith and Michael Stegina, Jr. and his wife Larisa Stegina in addition to four grandchildren; Kristen Reeves, Joshua McNatt, Nikki McNatt and Danielle Stegina.
Gail was born in New Haven, Connecticut in 1946 to William and Dorothy Regan. In high school, she met the love of her life, Michael Stegina, and in 1966 they were married. In 1972, she embarked on a big adventure when she and Michael relocated their family to Arizona.
Gail treasured family above all things. Her life revolved around her home, her family and her friends. She was always there when needed and was the foundation in our lives. Gail was a generous woman who opened her home to everyone during holidays so no one had to feel alone. Christmas Eve always found her home filled her family and friends, and their family and friends too. Everyone was welcome to come and share the joy of the season.
As the children grew up, Gail and Mike found a new sense of adventure and began to travel the world together. Gail was a true world traveler and history lover. She had stories to share from her journeys to each of the 7 continents, where she was fortunate to roam through many historical places, experience breathtaking views, meet amazing people while visiting many of the wonders of the world.
When not traveling and she enjoyed hanging out with friends and family, playing games and sharing a meal. To relax, Gail liked nothing more than her favorite chair, a good mystery and a cold beer. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Her visitation will be held at Bueler Mortuary, located at 14 W. Hulet Drive, Chandler, Arizona 85225 on Monday, May 14, 2018 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. Funeral services will be at St. Stevens Catholic Church located at 24827 S. Dobson Road, Sun Lakes, Arizona 85248 at 10:00am, Tuesday, May 15, 2018 with an open house immediately following at the family home.
