, 89, of Phoenix, Arizona passed away on April 11, 2018 with his wife and several of his children by his side. He lived a good life dedicated to, and filled with his family and his faith. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Patricia and their eleven children Frances Cox and husband Art Giguere, James and wife Sheryl, Diane, John and wife Kathy, Lawrence and wife Shelle, Christine and husband Jim Gallagher, Teresa Morelan, Catherine Tronnes, Donna and husband Gregory Mater, Virginia and husband Jerry Connelly, Barbara and husband Brandon Roberson. and their 23 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Frank was pre-deceased this past year by his sister Norma Jean (Cox) Major.

Frank was born in Joplin, Missouri in 1928. On graduating from Grant’s Pass (Oregon) High School shortly after World War II, he enlisted in the Air Force in 1947 working his way up the enlisted ranks to Master Sergeant. He served in a number of positions from recruiter to First Sergeant and served at duty stations in the United States as well as remote duties in Labrador, Canada and Thailand. In 1969 he retired from the Air Force and continued his service to the country in the U.S. Federal Government as a Secret Service Officer and as an Agent for the Defense Investigative Service for another 20 years. While with the Secret Service he worked in the the Harry S. Truman Protective Division.

Frank had many passions beyond his wife Patricia. He was actively involved in the Knights of Columbus, wood working, telling crazy (& bad) jokes, playing cards (if you can call it that), and smoking meats. Frank is self-credited with being the inspiration for the show “Dancing with the Stars” and has taught his dance moves to his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Many of these children are now in dance therapy classes.

Visitation will be held Tuesday April 17th from 6-8pm at Bueler Chandler Mortuary, 14 W. Hulet Drive, Chandler Arizona, 85225

A mass celebrating his life will be at noon, Wednesday April 18, 2018 at St. Benedict’s Catholic Church, 16223 S. 48th Street, Phoenix AZ 85048. Reception following at the church. In lieu of flowers the family is requesting a donation to Catholic Community Services Tucson and please designate Merilac Lodge. CCS-SOAZ.org
