Elisa Winder

It is with great sadness that our beloved mother and grandmother, Elisa Winder has departed this mortal life, on May 8th, 2018. She was born on February 24, 1941 in Piura, Peru. She is survived by her husband of 56 years Raul Angel Winder, her 5 children, and 19 grandchildren. She lived for her family and was a constant blessing to them by giving constant encouragement, and endless love.  Her repeated teaching of being close to one another is the hallmark of her legacy. Elisa was an inspiration to all by serving those around her in a charitable and loving way. In 1974 she joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.  It was here that her faith in God grew stronger.  In 1981 she was sealed to her family in the Oakland California Temple.  Her great example of unselfishness, and her passion for giving to those in need, is one that will forever be remembered. We are saddened by her departure but are celebrated by her life.  She is a beacon for her family and her subtle counsel for our everyday challenges will be the things we will miss greatly. Most of all we will miss the simple voicemails she would leave that said, “hola, this is mami, I love you.”

Funeral services will be held May 18, 2018 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saint building in Mesa, Arizona.  10305 E. Southern Avenue.  A viewing will be held at 9 AM and the service will follow at 10 AM.
