Elda “Ging” (Mercado) Sabal

Mrs. Elda “Ging” (Mercado) Sabal, born on November 1, 1939 in Molugan, Philippines, to the late Irene Lago Mercado and the late Numerano Mercado, passed away at age 79 on December 25, 2018 in Chandler, Arizona. Elda was the beloved wife of Dr. Antonio C. Sabal for 54 years. She is survived by her sons, Antonio Sabal Jr and David Sabal; daughter, Frances Ivanic; grandchildren Liam Ivanic and Sophia Ivanic; and her sister, Toriana “Annie” Mercado Vacalares. Elda led a full and happy life. She moved to the United States in 1964. Before starting a family, she supported her husband as he established a career in medicine. Later, she dedicated her time raising her three children while continuing to support her husband with office management at his private practice in Chandler, Arizona. She loved to travel and spend time with family and friends. She will be greatly missed for wit and laughter.

Friends and family members may attend the visitation on Wednesday, January 2, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Bueler Mortuary, 14 West Hulet Drive, Chandler, Arizona, 85225. A funeral service will take place on Thursday, January 3 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary Magdalene Church, 2654 East Williams Field Road, Gilbert, Arizona, 85295.
