, 80, passed away peacefully in his sleep at home on January 15, 2018. He is survived by his first and only love, his wife of 61 years, Jal Morriss. Chuck was born on September 24, 1937, the oldest of 4 children to William and Udyene (Rhodes) Morriss. Chuck (known by many as C.P.) is survived by his 3 children, Charles Peter Morriss II (Lisa) Dana Michele Hubbell Peru (Ramey) and Robin Suzette Morriss Lindop. Known as “Da-Ta”, the baby whisperer, he leaves 8 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Chuck is also survived by his sisters, Diane Smith (Harry), Trish Wells (Jerry) and Billie Johnson (Robert) along with nieces, a nephew and many cousins. Raised in El Paso, Texas, he attended Crockett Elementary, graduated from Austin High in 1955 and attended Texas Western College (now UTEP). He worked at the Railroad to pay for his education, then worked at El Paso Natural Gas and U.S. Plywood. He accepted a managerial position at Southwest Forest Industries in Flagstaff, Az where he was plant manager. Chuck finished his career as a Real Estate Owner and Broker with his wife, Jal. He was an active member in the Masonic Lodge, the Scottish Rite, York Rite and Shriner’s International. Chuck played a pivotal role in bringing the new YMCA to Chandler and was active in the Community for many years. He was a member of the St. Matthew United Methodist Church in Mesa. A viewing will be held on Monday February 26, 2018 at 2pm at Bueler’s Mortuary on 14 W Hulet Drive, Chandler, AZ 85225 with a Masonic funeral and a celebration of life to follow.
