William “Paul” Sinclair

Paul was born in Calgary, Alberta, Canada to Scott A. and Doris L. Sinclair (Clemmer) in February 1941. Paul attended Queen Elizabeth High School and Mount Royal College. He loved sun and cycling so much so that he cycled to and from his airline job at the Phoenix International Airport every day, even during the summer at high noon. He also road to work in Palm Springs, San Jose, Memphis and San Diego.

He retired after 40 years of working for West Coast, Air West, Hughes Air West, Republic and finally Northwest Airlines. He did everything from customer service from the ticket counter, to the ground operations, to air freight, bringing in the large Boeing 747 and many other aircraft comprising the fleets of all of these airlines. He loved his job.

His retirement years brought him great satisfaction where he could put his kind heart into action. He and his wife Dora, spent many weeks each year volunteering with International Gospel Ministry in Kino Bay, Sonora, Mexico. They were the support team for many years in Mexico with IGM. “Pablo” was well loved by the people in this small fishing community, as they went about helping the poor and needy in this village. Paul was a strong yet kind man who realized at a very young age that he should temper his greater physical strength when playing with his friends.

“Some say it’s the strength from muscles
That helps you win life’s tussles
But we’ve seen you impart
A gentleness from your heart
That is stronger than brute force
For it followed love’s sweet course.”

Paul will never be forgotten for he lives in the hearts of all who knew him: His family, wife Dora L. (Mueda) Sinclair, his son Randy Sinclair, his daughter Lisa Kyser, Dora’s daughter, Rebecca Keeney-Clark, and son, John Keeney. Paul’s sister Joann Elliott and brother Douglas Sinclair as well as his many grandchildren, Whitney, Katrina, Ryan, Reece, Spencer, Sophia and Jackson…who he loved dearly. He goes to meet his Lord, and awaits all who will come after.

Please check with the family about a Celebration of Life service to be held at the Sun Valley Community church in Tempe Arizona.

I really enjoyed working with Paul. He often kidded my about my weight, which only gave me inspiration. Paul is now is God’s Heaven, and, in my belief, is receiving
    divine grace. Rest in Peace.

Hi Paul. Have fun riding your bike in Heaven. I am missing your “hello neighbor” on my way to the mailbox. Dora and I talk about you each time I see her. Of course she misses you so much but she knows that some day, she will ride a tandem with you in Heaven, surrounded by angels. This is what helps her deal with you not being with her. Rest in peace Paul. Your gentle smile and big bear’s hugs are missed by all who knew you, including my dear husband John.

  • Phyllis and Len Colbert Posted May 4, 2018 2:51 PM

Paul was as real a person as we have ever known; a great one to help with any task and or information. He was a champion husband, a valued friend and a devoted believer. That awesome smile could light up a room and will be sorely missed.

Hi Dora, Paul’s Celebration of Life service was very impressive, So many people shared loving memories of Paul & his impact on their lives. Although my husband & I have never had the pleasure of working or traveling with you & Paul we’ve been aware of your ministry in Keno Bay, and have been able to observe your friendly smiles in Sunday school class. Our hearts go out to you for your loss. We pray that you will feel God’s comforting arms around you and draw strength from your knowledge of His Word and the fact that Paul is with Him!

  • Lester and Donna LeMay Posted May 5, 2018 7:04 PM

Dora, thank you for planning the beautiful memorial to Paul today. It helped me know you both better, to hear the testimony of your friends and family. “Precious memories, how they linger–” but Precious Faith, how it comforts!

  • Linda Sinclair Brooks Posted May 11, 2018 12:59 PM

Paul, the father of our two children, was a kind and gentle soul who loved and was so proud of his family. I know he was a devoted husband to Dora and his extended family and took his responsibilities to his family and his community seriously. Bless him as he abides with the Father forevermore.

  • JoAnn Elliot Posted May 11, 2018 1:37 PM

Missing my big brother! But I do know he’s happy and free right now. His familiar face is gone but that unique sparkle still warms my heart and always will.

  • Doug Sinclair Posted May 14, 2018 2:00 PM

As a big brother, he enjoyed the role of torturer, tudor and friend; just as I loved every moment of having him as my older brother. I am still waiting for a message from him as to whether they are serving liquorice ice cream.

  • Katrina Kyser Posted May 17, 2018 1:29 PM

I had the greatest Grandpa Ever! As a child, he would visit me in Texas. I would await him getting off the plane so I could get a BIG hug where he always picked me up!!! Even when I was 18, he still picked me off my feet for my hugs! As a kid, he would put me on his shoulders and make me feel like I was on top of the world. He would go exploring with my sister, Whitney, and I in the creek by our home. He gave us so much love and attention on every visit. He would sign his name on our cards “The old Man”. My Papa Paul will be missed greatly. His kindness towards the world around him will live on in our blood line. Forever missed! Love you PAPA!

  • Whitney Kyser McClung Posted May 22, 2018 3:09 PM

I am humbled to know that I come from a such a loving family. Papa is no exception, he loves and supports me through all my life’s events. I will never forget how strong he is, of course physically, and emotionally. I will cherish the memories of our visits and vacations, but above all I appreciate our recent lighthearted and in depth conversations about love, life, and the family tree. I know he has found peace and is waiting patiently for his bride. I love you Papa!
